Your Hue Bridges
Tamsel talks only to the Philips Hue Bridges on your local network, directly and encrypted, to show and control your lights, scenes, automations and devices. Nothing is sent to the developer.
Finding bridges
To find bridges, Tamsel uses Bonjour on your local network and Signify’s public discovery service (discovery.meethue.com), like the Hue app. Signify sees your public IP address when it is asked; no other data is sent.
What stays on your Mac
Bridge connections (the access keys are kept in the macOS keychain), floor plans, favorites, settings, battery and reachability history and the backups you create are stored on your Mac. They only leave it if you export and share a backup or a diagnostics report yourself.
Diagnostics report
Only on your request (Settings → General → Diagnostics). It contains the app and macOS version, bridge models, counts of lights, scenes and automations and the log since launch – no access keys, no IP addresses, no names. You decide whether to send it.
Notifications
Tamsel can show local notifications, for example when a battery is low. They are created on your Mac and not sent through any server.
Crash reports and statistics
Only if you have chosen in the macOS settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple passes on anonymised crash reports and usage statistics. The developer cannot link them to you.
Your rights
Because the developer stores no data about you, there is nothing to disclose, correct or delete. To remove all local data, delete the app; its data lives in ~/Library/Containers/com.benjaminkahl.Lichtwerk.

Deine Hue Bridges
Was auf deinem Mac bleibt
Lichtwerk.
